Members of the Causality and Mind Lab (PI: David Sobel, Ph.D.) study cognitive development in infants, preschoolers, and adults. Our research examines how children represent and learn causal relations, make causal inferences, and how they understand their own and others’ mental states.

Founded in 2001, the lab is part of the Department of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences at Brown University. We are located in the Metcalf Chemistry Building, Room 112, with additional space in Metcalf 029A (next to the Metcalf Infant Lab). In June 2010, we will be moving to Wayland Square.

The lab is currently funded by grants from NSF (DLS-0518161 and BCS-0744898).
